Designer, Professional Dancer & Teacher of Argentine Tango
He was born in Argentina in 1991, a land where Tango is a tradition. Since very young began to dance due his parent’s profession, Gladys and Oscar – two professional dancers with over 30 years of experience.
Always following his parent’s life, Fernando was born and raised in an environment of shows and artists, where clothes, shoes and other accessories were meticulously thought and chosen.
In the year 2000, he moved to Portugal, where discovered his second vocation – Design. Passionate about Advertising, Fernando graduated at one of the best Design schools in the country – ESAD.
Despite his academic background he never left dancing. He complements his dance experience in other rhythms such as Ballroom Dance, Latin Rhythms and African Rhythms.
In 2015 emerges the difficulty of finding a dance shoe that meets the main demands: Quality, Comfort and Design.
Exhausted of not finding a dance shoe with these characteristics, and once that he has an academic background for such, Fernando decides to create his own brand of men dance shoes.
After a year of several attempts, he discovers a Portuguese shoe manufacturer which allows him to develop the shoe as he had idealized.

Brand Concept
Zalazar Shoes is a brand of dance shoes for men, created from Man to Man, in which every detail is meticulously thought. Zalazar Shoes have Argentinian design, by the hands of Fernando Zalazar, a professional Tango Dancer, and handmade production in Portugal. Zalazar Shoes are created to dance and all of them have 3 fundamental ideals:
STABILITY
We bring stability and security to every man. We create a comfortable shoe, which is a support for all his movements.
SPEED
A light and comfortable shoe to carry out every move with greater freedom and speed.
ADHERENCE
Neither grabs nor slide. The chrome treated sole provides better control and adaptation to different floor types, to slide only as much as wanted.

WE PURSUIT TO DEVELOP THE BEST MALE SHOE TO DANCE
and to achieve it we go through the following phases of the creative process:

Concept
“From Man to Man” – Based on the man’s role in dance, we seek to create a shoe that pleases today’s Man, focusing on three key elements: Quality, Comfort and Design.
2.
Prototyping
Every Zalazar Shoe model is designed and previously tested before being sent to production.
3.
Development
The combination of the elements mentioned above requires a very strict production. We analyze trends, styles, materials and production techniques to develop the best possible shoe.
4.
Production
Handmade produced and with great rigor, Zalazar Shoes have limited quantities, making it an exclusive shoe with premium quality.
Zalazar Shoes are handmade in Portugal, in a factory with more than 80 years of experience, where every detail is designed to meet the demands of the ones who dance.
